Toy appeal launched in Longbridge for local children who would not get gifts this Christmas

Bromsgrove Editorial 24th Nov, 2019   0

AN APPEAL has been launched for donations of new toys for families in need and children and young people who would otherwise be not getting a gift this Christmas.

A trolley has been set up at Sainsbury’s Longbridge where items can be dropped off.

This is the fourth year the appeal has been organised by former councillor Andy Cartwright, local butcher Tony Geraghty and Sainsbury’s.

The drive usually gets a fantastic response from the south Birmingham community and the organisers are hoping this year will be the same.

Recipients of the toys will be referred by local agencies and groups.

It will complement the hamper appeal which is also being run by Tony Geraghty.
