Tower tours and musical performances to take over St John's Church for Heritage Open Weekend

Bromsgrove Editorial 2nd Sep, 2018   0

TOWER tours throughout the afternoon and at sunset will be among the highlights when Bromsgrove’s historic St John’s Church opens its doors for the Heritage Open Weekend.

Other activities between 4pm and 9pm next Saturday include the chance to learn about the history of the church, see stained glass expert Brenda Henderson at work and experience the church as it would have been before electric lights.

There will also be musical performances, including on the church organ, and refreshments.

Admission to the tower climb during the afternoon is on a first come, first served basis and there will also be a ‘sunset tower climb’ which will be ticket only.

The Saturday after, September 15, sees the start of the free Coffee and Cake Concert season with a performance at 10.30am.

The church will remain open after the concert until around 1pm for visitors to have a go on the church organ.
