THE ANNUAL wassail to ward off evil spirits and ensure a bountiful harvest will take place at the Lickey Hills Country Park this Saturday, January 11.
The free and fun event, organised by the park’s ranger team, will be held at the community orchard at 4.30pm.
Step On Board Appalachian dancers and musicians will provide live music.
Visitors should wear warm clothing and wellies and bring items with them to make some noise to ward off any evil spirits at the light-hearted event.
Torches are also useful because of the dark evening and an apple-based drink to toast the health of the fruit trees.
There will be warm apple juice available for free but people should take their own cups to minimise waste.
Call the rangers on 0121 445 6036 for more information.
