THE FIRST heat in this year’s Search for a Star at the Austin Sports and Social Club takes place tomorrow.
Every Saturday between now and March 2, eight acts will take to the stage to perform their 15 to 20-minute sets.
There will then be three semi-finals throughout March and the grand final on April 6 where contestants will battle it out for their share of the £5,000 prize money.
The winner will scoop £2,000, the runner-up £1,000, the third place £500 and fourth £250. All the finalists will each get £100 and semi-finalists £50.
Tickets for tomorrow’s show are £4 on the door.
