A PURR-FECT day is in store at Bromsgrove’s Blue Cross next Saturday, May 18, when the charity holds its annual Paws for Tea, sponsored dog walk and first car boot sale of the season.

The tea party will boast delicious cakes, games and a raffle between 9am and 1pm.

Dog walk participants can take on the 4.5mile stroll or the shorter mile-long course, aimed at younger children and those with disabilities.

Neil Edwards, the Bromsgrove Blue Cross’ centre manager said: “We hope to see lots of visitors at our Paws for tea event this year and for everyone to enjoy a slice of their favourite cake and a refreshing cuppa – all in aid of pets needing our help.

“It’s the purr-fect way to raise money and every penny really does make a difference.”

Sponsorship forms can be collected from the centre or walkers can pay £5 on the day.

All dogs taking part will receive a certificate, rosette and goodie bag.

The car boot kicks off at 9am with sellers able to set up from 7.30am and the sales will take place every fortnight after that.

Sellers pay £5 per car or £10 per van/trailer.

Blue Cross Paws for Tea fund-raising packs, full of ideas, recipes for tea parties, along with posters, balloons and a collection box, are available at www.bluecross.org.uk/paws-tea or by calling 0300 790 9903.
