THE NEXT ‘Swapmeet’ for those interested in flying model aeroplanes will be held at the Trinity Centre in Lickey.

The event, organised by the South Birmingham Model Flying Club, takes place between 10.30am and 2pm next Sunday, January 21.

For the first time tables will be open to all hobbyists and model makers and the organisers are hoping to have cars, boats and trains as well as planes.

The star attraction will be a beautifully built and finished Dragonforce class RG 65cm model yacht which is for sale, along with a partially built kit of another 36ins ‘Mickey Finn’ yacht.

Some model cars will be provided by a member from Nuneaton and model railway clubs, boat clubs and other model aircraft organisations have been invited.

Visitors will be able to browse old and new planes and kits, meet old and new friends, indulge in hobby nostalgia, pick up a bargain and sell their unwanted items.

Refreshments will be provided by Alison Humphrey from Clavellis of Bromsgrove.

Tony Field, from the South Birmingham Model Flying Club, said: “A warm welcome is assured to all who come along.”

Admission is £2 and tables are £5.
