AN AUDI A3 which failed to stop for police last night was stung by officers on the Old Birmingham Road in Lickey following a police pursuit.

The car, which was stolen, was chased from the M5 and came off at Junction 4 before heading along the Old Birmingham Road.

Officers successfully used the stinger to puncture the cars tyres, causing it to crash near the Lickey Hills.

The suspects decamped and while the driver was detained, others managed to flee from officers, heading into the beauty spot’s woodland.

Despite a search of the hills and surrounding areas in Barnt Green by officers, dogs and the presence of a police helicopter, the remaining suspects were not found.

Police have urged any witnesses or anyone with any information to call officers on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
