Mark Boreland, of no fixed abode, has been charged with theft from motor vehicle.

The 40-year-old is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Friday).

Police had been called after reports of a man trying to break into vehicles in several streets yesterday morning.

The suspect did not get very far and was stopped in his tracks as PD Hans sprung into action.

He was arrested after being found with the items on him.
