RESIDENTS in the Stoke areas of Bromsgrove can get free SmartWater between 10am and 4pm next Sunday, September 15.
It will be available at Stoke Recreation Ground, opposite the Hanbury Turn.
It has been funded, in part, by Coun Chris Bloore from his Worcestershire County Council Divisional Fund.
Proof of ID will be needed for people to prove they live in the parish.
Residents mark their valuables with the water which has an individual DNA code and if items are stolen they can be returned to the rightful owner by checking them against a database.
Such is the reliability of SmartWater, if a thief or someone who has handled stolen goods has the liquid on them, it can be used as evidence as part of the criminal case against them and has led to convictions in the past.
