BROMSGROVE and Droitwich Standard readers are exclusively invited to the online premiere of the first episode of a brand new radio series ‘The Remarkable Mrs Cox’ at 8pm this Monday. May 4.
The show is the brainchild of local writer Euan Rose, who penned the book for the original ‘Wallop Mrs Cox’ musical, which enjoyed sell-out runs at The Crescent, REP and Hippodrome Theatres and was affectionately known as ‘The Brummie Musical’ .
Emily Cox – the matriarch of a legendary Birmingham Bull Ring market trader family – is now 101 years old and is in ‘lockdown’ in Bromsgrove, where she has retired. In her own inimitable style, she muses with her dead husband Lenny about the past and present.
In this YouTube series, Pat Dixon-Dale plays Mrs Cox with a specially composed title theme from Adrian Kimberlin.
Please join writer Euan Rose and us at The Standard at the virtual premiere at 8pm on Monday night by following this link:
