DOG OWNERS and their four-legged friends are being urged to take part in a sponsored walk at Bromsgrove’s Sanders Park this Sunday, May 26, writes Shivani Chaudhari.
Let’s Go Walkies at 6pm will raise funds for Sadie’s Stray Dog Rescue.
Around two years ago Heather Egginton adopted a dog called Tessie who had been rescued by the charity.
She was found tied to a fence at two months old stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Heather said: “My dog changed my life and like any fur baby loving humans we would not be without them.
“I wanted to start this annual event which is also happening in a number of other locations, to help feed the dogs who do not have a loving home yet.”
She added events like this were really important as the organisation relied solely on donations, fund-raising and supporters to cover all the dogs’ monthly costs which amounted to £10,000-a-month.
To take part in the event costs £5 per dog.
