THE SECOND ‘Clap for our carers’ took place tonight to honour healthcare workers, emergency services personnel, delivery drivers, shop workers, teachers, waste collectors, postal workers and all those who are going the extra mile during the coronavirus crisis.

Residents from across Bromsgrove and all around the country went to their front doors, windows and on balconies to join in with the applause.

And at the town’s historic St John’s Church the spire was lit up blue – the colour of the NHS.

Rev Ray Khan said: “We thought it would be a nice idea to honour all those who work in the NHS, their families and everyone who is pulling together and helping at these testing times.

“We want to say a massive thank you for all that you do.”

Officers and crews at Bromsgrove’s Police and Fire Station were among those joining in with the applause. They posted the video below on Twitter.
