STUDENTS from South Bromsgrove High School have donated 15 large boxes of food to the Basement Project.

The year nine pupils have been bringing in tinned food, biscuits, chocolates, pasta, rice, toiletries, games, toys and colouring books to help homeless families and people in need.

The hampers will be given to the charity to support the vulnerable young people and their families over Christmas.

The collection was organised and led by the heads of year, Mrs Rees and Mr Jacobe, and teaching assistant Mrs Halfpenny.

Mrs Rees said: “I was blown away by the sheer amount our students were able to donate.

“They had decorated their boxes beautifully to make them look like attractive hampers.

“It’s great to see young people really wanting to help others less fortunate than themselves.”
