Sidemoor First School's digital leaders to keep fellow pupils safe online

AN ONLINE Safety committee has been set up at Sidemoor First School with pupils becoming ‘digital leaders’, writes Layla Chiha.

Children and teachers have created an action plan which they will share with the local community to raise awareness of online dangers.

The youngsters will complete surveys to highlight areas the school needs to focus on and the digital leaders will deliver age-appropriate assemblies for each key stage.

Leaflets are also being designed for all parents and carers and there will be a poster competition for all pupils to take part in.

Deputy headteacher Richard Watkins said: “This is an exciting and new idea to be taking place at Sidemoor, we are confident we can keep children safe online in and outside of the school.”
