HEARTLESS thieves have stolen a 2.5metre wooden cross from a south Birmingham church.
The raiders struck overnight outside Longbridge Baptist Church to take the structure (pictured).
A spokesperson for the church said: “We are baffled as to know as to why this has happened and would like it returned.”
The cross had stood in the church’s front garden for many months and had become a real focal point for the community.
“It gave people a place to stop, think, pray and reflect.
“It’s brought peace to many during this pandemic, while our church doors have been closed and our community activities put on hold.”
The church has urged anyone with any information to private message its Facebook page.
