Severn Trent to hold drop-in session to enlighten Barnt Green residents on water pipe improvements

Bromsgrove Editorial 26th Jun, 2019   0

WATER supplier Severn Trent will host a community drop-in session for residents in Barnt Green tomorrow (Thursday) to enlighten them about water pipe improvements in the village.

As part of a water supply improvement, 500metres of ageing water pipes will be upgraded between July and September, as part of a £120,000 scheme.

The work will begin on July 22 and some roads will need to be closed.

Sections of Hewell Road will be shut, with access to the station and local shops available via signed diversion routes.

The improvements will be carried out in two phases.

Phase one will start at the junction with Bittell Road to the entrance into Station Approach and phase two will continue along Hewell Road, from Station Approach to the junction with Sandhills Lane.

Gareth Mead from Severn Trent said after the replacement the network would be in the best possible condition to give residents a reliable water supply for many years to come.

Tomorrow’s drop-in, and another one on July 11, will both be held at Barnt Green Sports Club, Margesson Drive, between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.
