Rubery traders showing their love for the village this Valentine's Day

TRADERS in Rubery are certainly showing their love for the village after 80 of the red Valentine’s Day hearts were taken up by businesses.

Each one has been decorated to reflect the organisation displaying it, creating a ‘lovely’ image of the area as part of the Love Rubery ‘Have a Heart’ campaign.

This year’s drive has taken on a more personal note after Ian suffered illness and benefited from New Cross Hospital’s Heart and Lung Centre.

The hearts have been made available by Susan O’Leary from Polly Put the Kettle On.

The best-dressed heart will win a free afternoon tea at the cafe. There will also be a prize for the person who photographs the most hearts and uploads them to Facebook/Twitter using #LoveRubery.

People can also write what they love about the village on small paper hearts from St Chad’s Church which will be hung on a #LoveRubery Tree. Email [email protected] for more information.
