TEMPORARY closures will be put in place on Valley Road in Bromsgrove from Monday to next Friday while Severn Trent replace ageing water pipes.

Engineers will carry out the work from the junction of Bumble Hole Lane to Bromsgrove Road during the five days.

It is part of a £10million investment programme across Worcestershire by the water supplier over a 12-month period.

Infrastructure alterations will be made so if further improvements are needed to the network in the future it will be easier for Severn Trent to access the pipes.

Catherine Webb from Severn Trent, said: “As water pipes get old, they can become weaker and crack, making them prone to leaks and bursts.

“We want to make sure our customers’ water supply in the area is always there when they need it, which is why we’re laying new water pipes on Valley Road.

“This work is really important, to make sure that water supplies for our customers are reliable going forward.

“We’re doing all we can to help minimise disruption and keep everyone affected up-to-date with progress.”
