Revealed - the dates of this year's Bromsgrove Carnival

THE DATES of this year’s Bromsgrove Carnival have been announced.

The two-day event will take place on July 12 and 13.

At the weekend the vice chairman of the Bromsgrove Carnival Committee Adam Lote met with Coun Rita Dent who will be donating some of her county council divisional funding to the extravaganza to help ensure it remains one of the biggest free events in Worcestershire.

The parade will have the theme ‘On safari’ and the ever-popular Friday night outdoor cinema in Sanders Park will also be returning.

Bromsgrove Carnival is organised and operated by volunteers and a rallying call has gone out for residents and community groups to get involved in the event by giving up a few hours of their time for free for both the Friday and the Saturday events.

Adam said: “Bromsgrove Carnival is growing in size and engagement and we’re excited to see just what the extra funding can do.

Coun Dent said she was delighted to be supporting the event.

“My two girls many years ago took part in the carnival, I did not realise the hard work that goes into preparing for the event.

“It brings the community together and allows the entries to show off their artistic talents.”
