Residents warned after spate of shed and outbuilding break-ins in Bromsgrove

RESIDENTS in Bromsgrove need to be on their guard after a spate of shed and outbuilding break-ins in the space of one night.

Between Monday (May 8) and Tuesday (May 9) several properties in Finstall were targeted.

At one on Finstall Road – between 6pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday – raiders forced their way into a secure shed/garage before stealing a number of power tools. Some were recovered in a nearby garden.

Also overnight between those two days, a garage in Walnut Lane, Finstall, was entered via a back door and a red Kawasaki quad bike was stolen.

Two more locked sheds in Finstall Road were targeted – also overnight between Monday and Tuesday – when the thieves unscrewed hinges from doors. Items were stolen on that occasion.

A leaf blower and drill were stolen from a garage in Walnut Lane between Saturday (May 6) and Tuesday (May 9).

And thieves attempted to break into another shed in Finstall Road overnight between Monday and Tuesday. Despite using bolt cutters to try and snap locks, entry was not gained.

A shed in another part of Bromsgrove – Foxwalks Avenue – was broken into at some point before 1.40pm on Monday (May 8).

After forcing the padlock to get in, high value fishing equipment and power tools were taken.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on any of the break-ins should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
