Residents urged to sign up to this year’s Great British Spring Clean

Bromsgrove Editorial 24th Feb, 2018   0

RESIDENTS across Bromsgrove, Rubery, Droitwich and South Birmingham are being urged to sign up to this year’s Great British Spring Clean, writes Rhys Goodfellow.

This year’s event takes place between next Friday and Sunday, March 2 and 4 to bring people together to clear up the litter that blights their communities.

Last year more than 300,000 took part and Keep Britain Tidy which organises the event is hoping over 400,000 will get involved this year.

Keep Britain Tidy has announced it’s first ever #LitterHero Ambassador search and is looking for 99 local champions across the UK.

Last year, more than 1,000 schools took part, 89 per cent of people involved felt they made a difference to their local area, and 85 per cent saying they would encourage others not to drop litter in the future.

This project is made possible by support from Coca-Cola, Lidl, Iceland, Costa and McDonalds’s.
