RENOWNED poet Tom Sastry will be at Bromsgrove Library ‘for one night only’ on Monday, January 20.

He will be at the venue from 7pm to 8pm as part of his tour where he will be reciting works from his debut collection ‘A Man’s House Catches Fire’.

The collection launched last year and the county has been chosen to host the evening with Tom, celebrating the collection.

During his visit, he will be reading from the book and then answering questions from the audience.

Coun Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to welcome Tom to Worcestershire as part of his promotion for his debut collection and to share some of his works with our customers.

“We’re extremely honoured to be hosting one of poetry’s brightest talents in our county.”

Tom Sastry was chosen by Carol Ann Duffy as one of the 2016 Laureate’s Choice poets.

His work following on from this accolade, Complicity, was a Poetry School Book of the Year and a Poetry Book Society pamphlet choice.

The ’A Man’s House Catches Fire’. collection has recently been featured in a round-up piece by the Guardian looking back at the best recent poetry.

This is a free poetry event, with no need to book a place in advance.
