HEADWAY Birmingham and Solihull which is based in Rednal has been awarded £2,000 worth of funding by the Screwfix Foundation.

The charity aims to improve the lives of those who have suffered brain injuries and it provides advice and support to families and a range of rehabilitation and social inclusion services.

The funding will be used to build two bespoke garages for storing specialist fund-raising equipment, including kit for the new Sports and Wellbeing project.

Headway’s fund-raising manager Julie Wedgbury said the charity was grateful to the Screwfix Foundation and was delighted to receive the much-needed cash which would be a great help to the organisation.

Kayleigh Shorthouse, the store manager of Screwfix Kings Norton added: “Staff from across the business have held a variety of fundraising events to raise vital funds for The Screwfix Foundation, so it’s fantastic to see the money we have raised being invested back into such a worthwhile community project.”

Other charities and organisations from across the region can visit screwfixfoundation.com to find out how they can also apply for funding for their projects.
