A TEAM from Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadets finished second in a drill competition in Warwickshire.

Members showcased their skills against nine other teams during the contest and petty officer cadet Daniel claimed best squad commander.

This month the Royal Marines Cadets also competed in the troop drill competition, finishing third against fierce competition.

Petty Officer (SCC) L Wood, Officer in charge, said: “Drill and ceremonial training plays a key part in our cadet experience.

“It helps the cadets develop self-discipline, team skills and gain pride in what they do.”

He added the teams impressed everyone with their dedication and high level of dress.

“They have made themselves proud and achieved good results.”

Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadets parades on a Monday and Thursday and is open to young people aged between ten and 18.

The charity is always looking for new volunteers to help support training and fund-raising.
