CHILDREN from Millfields First School held their annual Christmas Nativity.

Headteacher Lisa Montandon and the staff were determined to do their best to make sure the event went ahead and even managed to add some extra special magic to surprise the children.

A real Donkey and a real baby joined the children in a stable at the schools vast, on-site, Forest School area.

Rev Paul Lewis, from Bromsgrove Baptist Church, also joined the Nativity and spoke to the children about the Three Kings.

A procession led the donkey up to Bethlehem (aka Forest School), where children dressed in their Nativity costumes, sang Christmas songs in accordance with Covid safe guidelines.

Mrs Montandon said: “It was a truly magical performance.

“We are so pleased that we were able to give children the chance to take part in this event given the unusual year they have endured.

“Christmas Nativities are a memorable part of a child’s First School experience.

“A lot of thought and careful planning went in to ensuring our children could enjoy a magical Christmas Nativity.

“We’re very pleased with how it went- even the donkey and the baby were on their best behaviour.”

The Nativity has been recorded and will be available for parents to watch from the comfort of their own home.
