Rail strike called off after pay deal is reached

Bromsgrove Editorial 22nd May, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0
A RAIL strike which was due to hit commuters on Tuesday when they returned from the bank holiday weekend has been called off.

Network Rail employees were due to walk out over pay on bank holiday Monday and Tuesday and that would have made getting to work on the Cross-City line impossible as, according to London Midland, there would be no trains between Redditch and Birmingham

But just as the Standard was going to press yesterday (Thursday), it was announced that the rail unions had called off the strike after receiving a revised offer from Network Rail.

Original timetables have now been reinstated and trains will run as usual.
