Pupils from Uganda helped by Fairfield First School pay their friends a visit

PUPILS from Fairfield First School got to meet children and staff from the Kititi School in Uganda who they had been helping.

The Bromsgrove primary school had been sending old and obsolete uniform to their visitors’ school for many years through the charity Planting Hope for Uganda.

The youngsters from Kititi were in England to address the Global Happiness Conference in Bewdley and visited Fairfield First to say ‘thank you’ for the donations.

Headteacher Scott Smith said: “Pupils were shocked to see some students wearing their previous uniform.

“It was a wonderful experience for our children and staff to listen to the amazing life stories the children had to tell, such as walking 5km to school and back each day.

“They also gave brilliant demonstrations of drumming and singing that had our children mesmerised.”

David Lowe from Forward Products gave the visitors exercise books and equipment for them to take back to Uganda.
