A PRISONER at HMP Hewell has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an inmate was found dead.
At about 5.15pm yesterday (Tuesday), West Mercia Police received a report of the death of a 39-year-old man at the prison.
His death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation has been launched.
Later the same night, a 38-year-old man, who is also an inmate at the prison, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in police custody this morning (Wednesday).
The deceased man’s next of kin have been informed and the investigation into what happened is ongoing.
