Primrose Hospice launches Lights of Love Appeal

Bromsgrove Editorial 29th Oct, 2016 Updated: 17th Nov, 2016   0

PRIMROSE Hospice has launched its Lights of Love Appeal to give residents a chance to honour their lost loved ones this Christmas.

The campaign for 2016 invites anyone who has lost a friend or family member to place a light on one of the hospice’s Christmas trees in Bromsgrove, Redditch or Rubery.

The person’s name is also placed in one of the remembrance books which will be set up around each tree and can be visited all through the festive season.

The Bromsgrove book will be outside Asda on Market Street and at Bromsgrove Methodist Church from November 19. The Redditch book will take pride of place with the tree in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre and Redditch Crematorium from November 20.

From November 28 the book in Rubery will be placed by the information board by the tree and other books will be in branches of Thomas Brother Funeral Directors from November 24.

Donations

The hospice does not charge for this but asks for a donation. Every year the appeal manages to raise about £1.6million towards the work the hospice does supporting patients with life limiting illnesses and their families.

Three remembrance services will also be held, one in Bromsgrove on Saturday (November 19) at Bromsgrove Methodist Church at 3.30pm.

The Redditch service will be held at St Stephen’s Church on Sunday (November 19) at 2pm and in Rubery on Sunday (November 27) at 4pm at the Beacon Church Centre.
