THE PRIMROSE Hospice has appointed David Burrell as its new Chief Executive Officer.
There was tough competition for the post but volunteers, staff and trustees felt David, with a long career as a clinician and senior manager and director within the NHS, was the best candidate for the job.
Chairman for the Board of Trustees, Rob Laight said: “We believe David’s career has provided him with considerable skills and relevant experience which will make him an excellent leader for Primrose Hospice.”
David said: “I am very proud to be offered the opportunity to lead Primrose, a charity that has an excellent reputation in the community.
“I look forward to working with the staff, Trustees and many volunteers to ensure that the growing number of people who will need hospice care over next few years are able to access the high quality, compassionate care that Primrose provides.”
However, Primrose Hospice needs £1.75million in funds each year to maintain the free care that it provides to patients, families and carers.
