Police urge car owners to use anti-theft screws to fit number plates

Bromsgrove Editorial 19th Oct, 2019   0

POLICE are urging car owners to use anti-theft screws to fit the number plates on their vehicle following a spate of plate thefts in the area.

Thieves steal the front and back registration numbers as it makes it easier to move stolen cars about as they won’t necessarily be picked up by number plate recognition cameras.

Anti-theft screws can only be removed by special tools once fitted. Police also suggest fitting anti-theft plates which break apart if removed from the car with force.
