Police patrols stepped up in Hollywood after man tried to get teenager into car

PARENTS and children have been warned after a man attempted to get a teenager to get into a vehicle with him in Hollywood.

The incident happened at 6pm yesterday evening (Friday) when the 15-year-old was walking on The Innage.

A man was standing on the pavement next to a vehicle and he spoke to the girl before asking her to do the same.

The victim declined and ran off.




She was not injured in the incident.

The vehicle was a black Volkswagen van and the driver was a white man with grey hair and blue eyes who was wearing an orange waterproof jacket.


Det Sgt Iain Standing of West Mercia Police said: “We treat all reports of this nature seriously and this was an understandably upsetting experience for the victim.”

He added enquiries were ongoing and patrols were being stepped up in the area to provide reassurance for the community.

“A number of enquiries are currently ongoing and patrols have been increased in the area to provide reassurance for the community.
