A HANDFUL of Bromsgrovians took to the beat at Sanders Park on Saturday as part of a fund-raising ‘Police Officers Walk’ for Hand in Hand for Oscar.

More than £1,300 has so far been collected from the event and a family fun day at Ye Olde Black Cross, Worcester Road.

Further funds are still coming in from T-shirts and other items being auctioned off for the campaign.

At the pub there was a barbecue, raffles, live music, a bouncy castle, hair braiding, face painting and glitter and a whole lot more.

Organiser Jodie Taylor-Wallace said: “We had a few people on the walk as it was put together at short notice but the fun day was absolutely packed.

“I want to say a big thank you to Josh Matheson for letting us use the pub and to all the local businesses which donated a massive amount of prizes.

“It was a great day for a great cause.”
