TWO KNIFEPOINT robberies were carried out at shops – one in Rubery and one in Rednal – in the last 24 hours.

Around 11.20pm last night (Tuesday), a man entered the Late Night Pharmacy in New Road Rednal and threatened two members of staff, demanding money.

He stole cash from the premises and then left.

No-one was injured in the incident.

West Mercia Police are investigating the incident and said enquiries were ongoing.

Then just before midday today (Wednesday), a white man entered Tom’s Hardware store in Bristol Road South where he threatened the staff with a knife before fleeing with cash and tools.

West Midlands Police, which is investigating that incident, said enquiries were under way to ascertain the circumstances surrounding it.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 (West Midlands Police for the Tom’s Hardware store or West Mercia Police for the Late Night Pharmacy).

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Officers say it is too early to say if the incidents are linked and if they are linked to a knifepoint robbery at a cashpoint in Rubery at 8.10am this morning.
