AN ELDERLY man was assaulted in Bromsgrove last night.
The victim, who was in his 70s and was visiting from Gloucestershire, was outside Flavours on the Worcester Road at 9.30pm when the seemingly unprovoked attack happened.
The man had been having a meal with his family in the restaurant and was viciously attacked as he left.
He was pushed to the floor and was punched before his attacker and another man left the scene of the assault in a 4×4 being driven by a woman.
PC Rose Cooper said police particularly wanted to speak to a brave individual who stepped in, intervened and tried to help the victim as he could be a key witness.
He was white, about 6ft tall and ‘well built’. He was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt, jeans and possibly trainers.
Anyone who knows who he is or the man himself should call police on 101.
“We are also aware of other people in the area at the time both on foot and in their cars who will have seen the incident and we would ask them to please call us as they could help with our investigation.”
The police have also appealed for anyone else who was driving past and has dash cam footage.
The man suffered bruising but did not need hospital treatment.
