Bromsgrove Editorial 5th May, 2018   0

THERE will be plenty of May Day merriment at Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum on Monday.

The traditional celebrations, held from 10.30am, will include Maypole dancing, Morris-dancing, outdoor theatre and music to mark the arrival of spring.

Carnival group The Fabularium will provide a medieval outdoor theatre pageant the ‘Carnival of the Animals’, which offers a unique blend of costume, music, acrobatics, puppetry and story-telling.

Throughout the Museum there will be traditional entertainments and activities for all the family, including have-a-go archery, pony rides and rides on the miniature train.

Costumed re-enactors will bring the historic buildings to life with demonstrations, providing a glimpse of May Day customs of times past.

There will also be hot and cold refreshments, including perry and cider.
