PARKFEST, the UK’s only festival aimed at over 65s, is returning to Great Alne Park, just outside Alcester following the huge success of last year’s event.

The festival will include entertainment from 4 Poofs and a Piano, as well as an appearance from TV legend Gloria Hunniford.

Teaming up with Birmingham Jazz Festival, Parkfest will also feature jazz from around the region and will close with a performance from local group, Texan Peacocks.

The festival will take place within the grounds of luxury retirement village Great Alne Park on Saturday, July 20, from 12noon to 5pm.

Gloria Hunniford and Dr Dawn Harper will be taking to the main stage to carry out an interactive audience panel discussion on ‘101 ways to enjoy getting older’, a campaign that she has been running with Inspired Villages, who own and run Great Alne Park.

Among the highlights will be a performance by 4 Poofs & a Piano, the famous house-band from the BBC chat show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. Other entertainment will include bands from the Birmingham Jazz Festival, The Texan Peacocks and Digby Fairweather.

Parkfest will also feature different ‘zones’, including wellness advice and activity. Food and drink will be provided by the onsite restaurant and bar along with other culinary treats such as beer from local producer, Purity.

Tickets are £5 for children and £10 per adult. To purchase tickets, visit www.inspiredvillages.co.uk/events/parkfest
