A SHOPLIFTER in Longbridge was caught by an off-duty police officer earlier this evening.
PC Danny Fulford, a West Mercia Police officer based at Redditch Police Station, was doing his shopping in Marks and Spencer around 6pm when he noticed the person taking goods.
When the thief tried to leave the store, PC Fulford and store staff sprang into action and caught up with them.
The stolen items were recovered, the police were called and the shoplifter was arrested by West Midlands Police response officers.
