THE man arrested over an arson attack on a property in Northfield with a woman and two children inside has been charged.
David White is accused of breaking into the house in Farren Road on Monday and setting fire to upholstery in the lounge.
The woman and two children managed to escape the property unhurt before large parts of the building were gutted.
White, from Oaklands in Northfield, was caught by police at an address in Rubery on Thursday.
He was charged last night with arson with intent to endanger life.
The 34-year-old also faces battery assault charges against a woman and a child, plus one count of aggravated vehicle taking.
He is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today.
A 41-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation while detectives probe his alleged role.
