A TALENTED art student from North Bromsgrove High School and Sixth-Form has received the royal seal of approval after having her art work included in a prestigious exhibition.

Nicole is now in year 13 but was in year 12 when she created the piece ‘Listen Here Buddy’ which has been selected for the Royal Academy’s Young Artists’ Summer Show.

The acrylic piece was chosen from more than 17,000 entries and will be on display in the online version of the collection as well as physically at the Royal Academy in London.

The show is now in its second year and will be online from next month and on-site later in the year.

It is open to all primary and secondary level students aged five to 19 (key stages one to five) in the UK and those attending British International Schools.

It provides a platform for the high quality and wide range of work produced by students and an opportunity to champion the importance of art in education. The judging panel consisted of a Royal Academician, a member of Royal Academy staff and two Royal Academy Schools students.

Nicole, who hopes to study design or creative media at university from September, said: “I’m over the moon to have my work selected and looking forward to seeing my painting feature in the online exhibition this summer.”
