NHS Mental Health campaign shortlisted after increase in users

THE NHS Mental Health campaign in Worcestershire, Now We’re Talking, has been shortlisted for a national award after seeing a huge increase in the numbers of local people accessing support.

The Now We’re Talking campaign, run by Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, was launched to increase awareness and referrals into Healthy Minds, a service supporting local people aged 16+ experiencing common mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety, low mood or depression.

Since its launch in October 2018, the campaign has worked with a range of local businesses and organisations and staff have been out and about at events and holding wellbeing sessions with local groups which has led to the self-referral numbers to the service more than doubling to more than 800.

This week the campaign was shortlisted in the national Leading Healthcare Awards in the Excellence in Communications and Engagement category.

It’s estimated that in Worcestershire there are around 50,000 people living with more common mental health issues.
