THE MURAL at Droitwich’s Lido Park will be given a summer makeover from renowned artist Rob Cowan, thanks to funding from Wychavon District Council, writes Olivia Warburton.

The now nine-year-old four-seasoned themed piece of art will have a new theme, focusing on Droitwich’s history and buildings which have been important to the town in the past, and still are today.

Rob will also be working with pupils from St Peters First School on the initial stages of the project which will give the mural a personal touch as well.

The £7,000 revamp will start this month and is due to be completed by early September.

Lynn Stevens, Wychavon’s senior parks and greenspace officer, thanked the owners of the wall for allowing the art work to be created.

“Art and parks are proven to play an important part in boosting a person’s mental and physical well being.

“Combining the two like this can really raise one’s spirits and it adds a creative feel to what would otherwise be a very plain concrete park boundary.”
