A MAN has been taken to hospital with a significant chest injury after  a serious collision between a motorbike and a car in Bromsgrove this evening (Saturday).

It happened at the junction of the Kidderminster Road and Perryfields Road at 5.10pn.

An ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene and the motorcyclist, who was in his 30s, was treated for the chest injury and given help with his breathing.

He was then taken to the region’s Major Trauma Unit at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he received further treatment.

Luckily, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a male motorcyclist who had come off his bike following a collision with a car. The bike had suffered significant damage in the incident.

“Due to the location of the incident, it was deemed quicker to travel by road than air.

“The driver of the car, a man, was assessed and discharged at scene.”
