YOUNGSTERS from Catshill First School in Bromsgrove will be given a helping hand when they celebrate World Book Day after receiving a donation of books for the school library, writes Henri Bujard.

The collection was given to the school by The Morrisons Foundation which has teamed up with the National Literary Trust.

It is part of a national project which will see more than 7,300 brand new books donated across hundreds of schools.

The books will be presented to pupils by Gareth Worton, community champion at Bromsgrove’s Morrisons.

He said: “There’s a great selection and I hope that every pupil will be able to find a story they will enjoy.”

Jonathan Douglas, Director at the National Literacy Trust, said he was ‘thrilled’ to be able to give the ‘gift of reading’ to pupils across the UK by donating the books.

World Book day aims to help children from local communities to fall in love with books and reading.

The Morrisons Foundation awards grants for charity projects in local communities.
