Met Office issues warning for strong winds for Bromsgrove, Rubery and south Birmingham

THE MET Office has issued a 12-hour weather warning for strong winds for Worcestershire and south Birmingham today.

The warning is in place between midday and midnight and the gusts of up to 50mph will peak around the evening rush hour, between 5pm and 7pm.

Rain is also forecast at that time and weather experts say there will be delays for drivers and public transport, both buses and rail.

Motorists in high-sided vehicles should also be careful in ‘exposed routes’ and on bridges.

And there is a chance of powercuts and loss of other services.

People who are travelling during the 12-hour period are being urged to take care.
