A ‘MARVELLOUS’ Bromsgrove heart failure nurse described as a ‘star of the NHS’ has been rewarded for her outstanding patient care.
Sarah Mills, who is part of the specialist Heart Failure Nursing Team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, has received a ‘You’re Simply Marvellous’ award.
One of only three Health Care Professionals chosen to receive the award, Sarah was recognised for her hard work by the UK’s patient-led Heart Failure charity ‘Pumping Marvellous’.
Heart failure patient Steve Squire commended Sarah for her outstanding patient care in enabling him to understand his condition.
The award was accompanied with a personalised commendation letter explaining the reasons behind her selection.
Steve said: “Sarah goes beyond her duties in my opinion not only dealing with the health side of things but also the emotional side.
“Following diagnosis, the advice she has given is invaluable and in addition she is a great listener.
“She is a real star of the NHS.”
Sarah works with patients living in Bromsgrove, undertaking clinics and visiting patients in their homes, to provide treatment, advice and support on their heart condition.
She said: “I am very humbled to receive this award and very incredibly touched.
“It feels very special to have been nomination by a patient, thank you.”
