A MAN has been injured after a microlight pilot had to make an emergency landing in a field in between Belbroughton and Clent.

The incident happened off Holy Cross Lane at 7.45pm last night (Monday).

The pilot and the other man, who was in his 40s, were out of the aircraft when ambulance crews got there.

The man sustained a serious leg injury and suffered chest pain.

He was given pain relief and other treatment at the scene before he was fully immobilised and taken to the specialist trauma centre Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

A MERIT trauma doctor, paramedic area support officer, Hazardous Area Response Team and the Midlands Air Ambulance were all sent to the scene.

The MERIT trauma doctor travelled with the man in the ambulance to the hospital.
