A MAN was shot in Frankley last night.
The incident involving the 23-year-old victim happened around the Mowbray Close and Holly Hill Road area around 9.50pm.
West Midlands Ambulance Service alerted the police following the call and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, the MERIT Trauma doctor and critical care paramedic to the scene.
The man was treated by police firearms officers prior to the crews getting there.
After treatment at the scene the man was taken to hospital where he remains today.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have yet been made.
Police said enquiries into the incident were ongoing and urged any witnesses or anyone with any information to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
