Man dies after being hit by train at Alvechurch Railway Station last night (Sunday)

A MAN has died after being hit by a train at Alvechurch Railway Station last night (Sunday).

British Transport Police were called to the station at about 6.15pm after reports a person had been struck by a train.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer and two air ambulances were in attendance.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a pedestrian in collision with a train.

“Sadly the man was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious.

The man’s next of kin has been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
