Macmillan Coffee Morning in Tardebigge being held in memory of Jane Powell

Bromsgrove Editorial 28th Sep, 2018   0

THE family of Jane Powell, who passed away in April after a sudden and short illness with liver cancer, will be hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning in her memory this Saturday, September 29.

Jane was just 65 and a highly respected childminder in Webheath, Redditch and just about to retire, when the illness struck.

She was also a beloved wife, mum and grandma.

Husband Andrew said: “We all know about cancer but this came like a bolt from the blue and brought the reality of this terrible disease into stark reality.

“Jane always attended the Macmillan events after her own mother died of cancer over 20 years ago, and so we thought we would do this for her.”

The event is in Tardebigge Church Hall from 9.30am to 12noon tomorrow (Saturday).

There will be cakes, coffee and tea in abundance, as well as soft drinks and colouring activities for children.

There will also be a raffle.
